With Quentin Trembley III’s proof that peanut brittle has life sustaining properties, as well as the sap that kept dinosaurs in suspended animation for millions of years, it really has me split on what would be funnier/more interesting for deeper worldbuilding purposes:

That the species of trees in ancient Mesozoic Era Gravity Falls had the unique odd property of producing sap that could effectively suspend life infinitely and hardly degrade over millions of years within a cool cave environment. Especially compared to regular tree sap, which doesn’t have such peculiarities. As such, Quentin Trembley in his silly genius created and used a peanut brittle recipe that just so managed to replicate the same effects but with “peanut brittle.”

(Personally, I’m not sure what he actually encased himself in, but it’s definitely not normal peanut brittle, which is opaque and contains the titular peanuts compared to his block of transparent nut-less “peanut brittle”)

Alternatively, there is the simpler yet arguably weirder other option:

That regular peanut brittle does have such properties in the world of Gravity Falls, and those ancient trees had the weird oddity of naturally producing peanut brittle in the form of sap. With the weirdness of Gravity Falls, it would not be surprising if there have been plants, fauna, and or environmental events throughout the valley’s history like extinct animals that pooped pizza slices, acorn trees that naturally grow and grow from brown colored size M8-1.25 acorn cap Hex nuts, or deposits of water bottle stalagmites and stalactites in some cave somewhere.

Either way you put it though, it sure makes me wonder whether the stereotypical movie dinosaur biology inaccuracies hold true for all dinosaurs in-universe, or if these were the weird featherless dinosaurs that were attracted to Gravity Falls…

Welcome to the Fictional President Election!

In this tournament, I will pit famous fictional presidents of the United States or fictionalized versions of real presidents against each other to decide who should be elected the official Tumblr President (of the United States). How would that even work? Is their royal vizier doing everything else? I learnt the term constitutional monarchy today (well, technically yesterday now) — I'm assuming they have heir royal status but the kingdom can get along fine somehow? Or humor them because they're nice to their subjects, it's just the hero they hate?

I agree! I think there's a fair share of goofy royalty, but not nearly enough with them also being evil! I think it could work multiple ways, all of which would be fun!

They could be a good leader but have a goofy personality or not take fighting with the heroes seriously. Maybe they're bored of having to rule a country and therefore treat the fights with their archnemesis as more of a game? (Think Doofenshmirtz but with leadership being his skill instead of inators.)

They could also be a goofy leader and have their ever-suffering royal adviser being the real one in charge, like you mentioned. (I had a pair of villains with that relationship. The "leader" was dumb as a rock, swimming in his pile of treasure like Scrooge McDuck while his advisor actually made plans and did work.) Extra points if the heros are also goofy as well so their dumb "ideas" work better than the advisor's actual good plans. :D

Maybe they're just plain silly and have just somehow managed to become a king because there were no other good choices and the kingdom didn't want a civil war? (Think Quentin Trembley III from Gravity Falls, maybe?)

Gravity falls came out when I was 3 years old and up until I was in 1st grade I genuinely thought Quentin Trembley III was a real person and was really confused when ppl didn’t mention him when talking about presidents

Alright. What the HELL is King Andrias’ deal?

Today’s episode gave us our first official glimpse of this guy, and I’m not gonna lie, he has some Big Evil Energy in that clip.

But we also see his design in the season 2 poster, and

He’s got this Big Softy smile going on. This does not give me evil vibes. This gives me Kind Old Man vibes. And the description for next week’s episode says something about the king sending Anne and the gang on a mysterious scavenger hunt, which I think says less “evil mastermind” and more “Quentin Trembley III, Esq.”, though that might just be me.

But then there’s the implication in the past few episodes that Newtopia has a bit of an iron fist thing going on. That doesn’t mesh very well with “cool puzzle-loving old dude”.

So where does that leave us? I suppose they could be going for a “he seemed good but was actually evil” plot twist, but that twist doesn’t really work when everyone already expects him to be evil. Honestly, it would be more of a twist for him to turn out to be absolutely fine, and our big bad is someone else entirely. Who knows, maybe he just really likes custom chess pieces.

You know who totally is evil, though? Lady Olivia.

Just look at her. I do not trust. Not one bit, no siree. And she’s English. 100% evil, for sure.

Honestly, I think it’s just too early to say anything about the king yet. Maybe he’s misguided but well-meaning. Maybe he’s a neutral entity with an eye for the bigger picture. Maybe he’s the King Kuei to Lady Olivia’s Long Feng. Or maybe he’s just straight-up evil.

I guess we’ll find out more next week.
